Regional Housing Market Summary

The Research & Intelligence is commissioned by the West Midlands Regional Assembly to produce the Regional Housing Market Summary. The report is intended to fufil two purposes:

  • It replaces the 'Plan Monitor Manage' report in respect of housing provision in the West Midlands as published in previous years; and
  • It is a first tangible step in bringing together the monitoring activity for the Regional Spatial and Housing Strategies

This report is a detailed analysis of housing supply based upon the 2006 West Midlands Regional Residential Land Availability Survey, which contributes to the substantive evidence base for the Communities for the Future chapter of the 2006 RSS Annual Monitoring Report. It is also an assessment of the key factors influencing housing demand including people’s aspirations about where they want to live and the nature of housing affordability across the Region.
