The amount of waste produced by householders in the UK is increasing whilst the amount of landfill space available is decreasing.  When something is thrown away, the materials and the energy used in making the product are lost. Instead of sending waste to landfill, we need to follow the 3 R’s: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

What are we doing in Worcestershire?

We have set targets to increase the amount of waste recycled and composted and to decrease the amount sent to landfill.  Click here to see our Waste Management pages and find out about what happens to your waste, details of recycling and household waste sites in the county and contacts for refuse/recycling collection details. What can you do?

 Reduce the amount of waste you produce - see our tips and suggestions.

 Donate your unwanted household items to local people or organisations who can reuse them.

 Get Freecycling! Pass items you no longer need to someone who does- see www.freecycle.org

 If it can't be reused, recycle it- find out what can be recycled where in Worcestershire.

 Close the recycling loop by choosing products made from recycled materials
