HAMPTON LANDFILL SITE.

Peewit Lane, Hampton, Evesham

The site was tipped prior to 1974 up until 1980. It was filled with a mixture of domestic and non hazardous commercial wastes which accounted for the tipped volume of 453,000m³. The site is roughly 7.5 hectares in area all of which is now restored and grassed.

The site was designed as a containment site due to the local geology. It lies within the lower lias clays and these provide a good natural liner to the site.

The site was restored using a layer of clay 0.5 - 1 metre in depth.

Hampton is now home to a host of wildlife.
