The County Council is reviewing the future of its three Outdoor Education Centres. The financial constraints on the County Council over the next three years will require a clear focus on the funding of core services. The removal of the subsidy to the Outdoor Education Centres creates an opportunity to think differently about how such provision can be developed and improved at the same time as securing alternative funding.
The review task group has established that there is considerable support for outdoor education in Worcestershire. Its report identifies three options for the future provision of outdoor education. The group is seeking stakeholders views on the report and in particular the three proposed options. A copy of the report is attached and a period of consultation will extend to Friday 29th June 2007.
If you have any comments please email them to Geoff Taylor-Smith (gtaylorsmith@worcestershire.gov.uk) or write to: Children's Services, P.O. Box 73, Worcester, WR5 2YA by 29th June 2007. Your comments will be made available to the County Council and is anticipated that Cabinet will make a decision on the future of the Outdoor Education Centres at its meeting on 19th July 2007.
